viper pool cues 300x151 Viper Pool Cues Review, Cheap Pool Cues Are Viper Pool Cues Any Good?

Viper pool cues are a low-end production cue that you can pick up for under a hundred bucks.  They come in many different styles with lots of graphic designs.  I think the quality of these cues is marginal.  They are probably better than the cheap pool cues that I played with when I was a kid, with the screw in tip and brass joints.  They would not be my cue of choice, though, in the price range of $50 to $100.

The cue market has changed, drastically, over the last 20 years or so.  The low end of the market has come up in quality, due to the increase in capabilities of the cue manufacturers over seas. That being said, if you are looking for a cue under $100, I know you can find a better quality cue, like a Players pool cue, Star pool cue or a Sterling cue.  I wouldn't recommend spending more than $30 or $40 on a Viper pool cue.  You would be better off looking around for one of those cues.

So, Where Can You Buy Viper Pool Cues?

If you are dead-set on buying a Viper pool cue, then check out the listings on this page.  You should be able to find a good deal on one.  I would encourage you to look around on my site to find one of the other brands I mentioned or a good deal on a used Mali cue, meucci cue, Viking cue or another of the more trusted production cue brands.  If you are looking for a good cue under $75 and are not sure what to buy, just leave me a message below asking for my help.  I'm an authorized dealer for many brands of cues, like Players Cues, Viking Cues, Sterling Cues, Lucasi Cues and many more.  I know I can set you up with a good deal to get you playing with a good quality cue.  One that will play and last longer than a Viper cue.

Cheers,
Skippy

Hi Skippy,

I am thinking to get a Players cue, Players HXTE20, what is your advice? Is this a worth buying or u have any better recommendation? Thanks.

HK,
I really like the HXTE20 cue. For the money, I think that is a great bargain. First, it is a nice looking cue with rengas wood.
The nice thing about that cue is that it has the hybrid shaft technology which makes it a great value. Also, it comes with a Kamui tip, which is a very good tip. Lastly, I really like the hit of a wood-to-wood joint. Everyone is different with those types of preferences, though. It is kinda funny, because I was looking to order this cue for my own player personal cue to play with for a while. In the end, I decided to get a Lucasi with their hybrid cue, which was just a little more, but I really like it.
Anyhow, to answer your question, I really like the pick. In this price-point, the Player Hybrids are a good value.
If you get this cue, you can go with the “skinny” shaft (11.75mm) or the standard HXT shaft (12.75mm). These shafts are both low-deflection, but they play differently. The skinny shaft will have a little less deflection, but the feel, amount of spin, etc. may be a little different for you. I got the “skinny” shaft on my Lucasi and I really like it. It plays very similar to the Predator Z2 shaft, IMHO.
If you decide to get one or want to talk to me about what would be best, I’m an authorized dealer for Players and many other cue brands. I could get you an HXTE20 for $144.49, free shipping. No matter where you get a cue, I’ll help you find the right cue, so let me know if you have any other questions.
Good luck.
Skippy
