I was given a McDermott cue back in 1989 by a friend in LA.
He played competition pool in NY in the mid to late 70′s himself.
He won this cue in a game one night (early – mid 80′s), and gave it to me as a gift as we played a lot together.
It’s definitely a McDermott (logo proves that), with about 5 or 6 different woods used.
Beautiful…. Irish linen wrap on it (tho needs to be re-wrapped).
I just had a played ask if I wanted to sell it (which I don’t)….
But it sparked a question in my mind…. The worth of the cue.
It’s now happy at home in Ireland since 1999…

It’s hard to say what it is worth, without know more information about the cue and/or seeing it. I will say that the pool cue market is very soft right now and has been for a while. If I had to guess, you wouldn’t be happy with the amount that it would bring on the open market right now. Just hang onto it and enjoy playing with it.
