Hi folks. I was contacted by one of my readers about a Jim Rempe meucci cue that he acquired.
This cue is pretty cool. It has an inlaw (or scrimshaw?) that is an outline of Jim Rempe in his shooting stance. I've never seen this Meucci pool stick before. Have you?
He is trying to get some background on it and find out if any others were produced. Check out the pictures below. Please, comment if you have any insights, questions or facts about this particular Meucci cue stick. My readers are GREAT...I'm sure someone out there has seen this vintage Meucci before.
Leave a comment or contact me if you have any helpful information or thoughts about this cue.
Cheers,
Skippy
P.S. Check out the great deals on Meucci cue sticks on this page.

Nice older “Helmstetter ” cue from the 70′s. It’s not a Meucci cue!
I go with Scott on this. A dead giveaway is the length of the ferrule: Meucci’s have the longest ferrules I’ve seen.. This actual Cue is now for sale on eBay (exactly the same pics, starting @ $400, see on right of page). I suppose seller never saw THIS page. I have a Jim Rempe by Meucci (this is written on butt). Not a real good one (warped butt, was sold as is, only $160). I’ll try to post some pics if I can.
I put the cue on ebay to see what comments i would get and or the value of the cue…i dont know much about it which was why I assumed it was a meucci. What would you say is the value of this cue?
Ive have seen of thosse cues today in gothenburg sweden..
I have a Rempe Stick
Paid $100.00
It has a parrot sitting on a ball engraved with split wrap.
This cue needs restoration – new wrap and the engraving is faded
due to some minor refinish sanding that I think was done.

@ M Klein,
You mentioned the cue needed a new wrap. Does the wrap have the finish over it? You don’t see too many Meucci’s without the coating on the wrap.
Sorry for the delay in answering.
Yes the linen wrap has a coating.
What is a fair price for this cue?
It has a thin groove cut in the butt around the bottom at the end of the wrap.
Does this mean anything, like a defect or 2nd?

I also have a Rempe cue with the same inlays as yours. I was told it was an Adam cue. I bought mine new in 1973 for $120.00
The only difference is the Scrimshaw on mine is Rempe is standing. I think the give away on the age is the Bell Bottom pants he is wearing.
I’m still playing this cue today. It has been a great stick all of these years.

I have that same cue that I found. I am curious about it as well. Mine came with a case that holds 3 pieces. It has an outline of him on the end and his signature as well. Please feel free to e-mail me with any info. Thank you very much.
Jim Rempe had two different companies making cue’s with his name on them. Adams and Meucci. If the Meucci name is not on the cue 99% chance you have an Adams. Plus the bare rap or leather raps would also make it an Adams. I have seen them go for as much as 1200 depending on the condition. Plus the signature location on the picture above is an Adams. I have two of them.
That’s helpful information Mike. Thanks for sharing.

I have this same stick, but mine has Jim Rempe standing, no Meucci name, but the linen wrap is coated. I bought this stick in the seventies and still use it today. How can I contact Meucci and Adams to find out which it is and what its worth? Is there a web-site that you can find out about vintage pool cues?
THIS IS ONE OF MANY MEUCCI CUES. THIS ONE IS ONE OF THE CUES JIMMY HAD COMMISSIONED. JIM’S A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE AND HE PLAYED WITH SEVERAL OF THESE WITH HIS LIKENESS. THERE AREN’T TOO MANY OF THESE AROUND, I WOULD HANG ONTO IT.
I also have this exact cue. I have been playing billards for 34 years and I probably bought this cue over 25 years ago and it does shoot very well. I have 3-4 other sticks but I haven’t played with this cue in years it has a few nicks in it but it is in real good shape and still shoots very well.
I have the same cue which I bought in the early 70′s. The difference is that he is standing in mine, and there are Pearl inlays all along the butt end. Irish linnen is coated. 10 mm shaft. I’ve been using it since I bought it. LOVE IT
Skippy, I have a Jim Rempe signed cue stick. The linen wrap and the stick is in excellent condition. On the butt is a likeness of Jim in his shooting stance. There are no other markings on the stick. Can anyone tell me what possible value this stick has?
Skippy,
I have this exact same stick and it was given to me by my father. He explained that he had searched numerous catalogs but to never find this same exact cue. I would love to obtain any additional info you may have acquired regarding this stick as it is very sentimental to me. My email is listed above. Thanks and take care.
I have that same cue. I was told if the pic on the butt had jim standing up it was worth less than if he was bending down on a shot like the pic above. how much is the one in the pic worth?
@Anthony Scott & ghost… It’s hard to say exactly what this cue is worth. I suppose if you could find the right buyer and be patient, you could get a few hundred. I saw a cue just like this on ebay twice in July. The starting bid from the seller was $230 and $250. There were no bids. There was another rare Jim Rempe cue that was listed in June that got 10 bids and went up to $257, but didn’t sell. I think these cues have a lot of nostalgic value to their owners, but I don’t think their is a good market for selling them. Especially, now-a-days when there are so many cues to choose from, unlike when this cue was made.
Cheers,
Skippy
