Hi,

I have acquired pool cue. The handle of the cue has a blue marble type finish and is wrapped in a multicolored blue thread. The markings on the bottom of the cue are Genuine over by McDermott with a large G that encases the 'en" of the word Genuine. Can you tell me anything about this cue.

Thanks for your time and consideration,

I've e-mailed you pics of my Randy Mobley cue used by Rodney Morris. Any notions on its worth would be appreciated as well as listing it on your site. Mike

Skippy, I own a Randy Mobley cue that he made in 2006 and was used by Rodney ( Rocket ) Morris in the IPT 2006 World Open 8 Ball Championship. I am thinking of sell it but have no clue as what it may be worth or what some one would consider paying for it. I have pictures and documentation to prove what I've stated.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the info. I found out that the Meucci headquarters/factory is just a few miles down the road from my house. I'm going to drop by there one of these days and see if I can have a shaft fitted to this old cue as well to ask them about it's history. If I find out anything different I'll let you know. Thanks again!

Coleman,
This cue looks like a Meucci JR-1 (Jimmy Rempe Model) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v384/RLW/Meucci-Jim-Rempe-Series-2.jpg . I'm not sure if it is a 1970's model. If I had to guess, I would guess early to mid-80's model. Most people would agree that the Meucci cues from that era are of a higher quality than the ones made today. I don't think it is all that rare, though, from looking at your photo.
As far as value goes, that is a little tricky. The only way to really tell is to put it up for sale and see what it will fetch. From watching auctions of other JR series cues from that same era, I would guess that you would only get about $225-$275 for this cue, assuming it is in good playing condition. I've seen some higher JR models sell for around $300 and some try to sell for more, seemingly without any interest.

I hope this helps. Thanks for sharing your cue and I wish you all the best.
