I have a lucasi cue with a predator z shaft id like to sell for 300$ I will say this ahead of time I have done alot of cleaning and work with the cue with what little i have for actual cue maintenence supplies such as cue clean and cue slick .....the ferrule is cracked and the tip needs to be replaced. Other than the tip and ferrule there is absolutely nothing wrong with this cue what so ever. it is 18 3/4 ouces exactly. It has a leather wrap. The forearm and but are coco bolo wood it is a beautiful cue but i need to sell it for i have like four other cues. I will try to submit pictures asap.

Hi Donald,
Thanks for all of the great information. I'm always ready to talk pool, so if you want, drop me an email. You have my email from my cue club. I was thinking of starting a podcast or a ustream channel about cues. I'm looking for some people thatmight want to be involved.
Regarding your comments, I think you have a lot of good points. The older viking, meucci, mcdermott cues seem to be of better quality than the new ones. I agree with you that my opinions changed after trying a Predator z shaft.
Unfortunately for me, I was a long-time hold-out for trying the Predator shafts. I wishI had tried them earlier.
Regarding Meucci, I always thought the "dot" shafts were a bit of a gimmick. I new guy that had an older Meucci, way before the black dot shafts came out, and he had a little arrow drawn on the ferrule. He made it a point to always face the arrow on top of the shaft, just like the black dot. I guess he was a little ahead of his time on that trick. Maybe that is not uncommon.
I see you've played with quite a few different cues, so it's nice to have your input. Thanks for commenting.

Personally I find that if you want a quality cue look at predator, viking, older mcdermotts. I have not worked or played with joss, or schon cues and there is a alot of other cues I have not used but be noted i have used mcdermott, lucasi, viking, predator, stealth, players,j and j, dufferin, meucci, adams, jacoby, american eagle, southwest, falcon cues, fury, and im not sure how many others i have used or tried oh and cuetec which cuetec is good for the straight shooter who dont use to much english when shooting, I have recently bought a richmond custom cue and that has worked really well i had to make a few adjustments to it but it was a great cue to shoot with it would have been very dangerous with a predator shaft i feel.

I have one thing to say about meucci cues....they are nice but they really have failed in the shaft areas.....meucci should have just stayed with the traditional wood shafts instead of the red dot, black dot and what ever dot they came out with for their cues since most players dont know what im about to say is true and accurate ill spill the reason as to why i say that their shafts are garbage......they are very inconsistent due to that dang dot they put on there if you put that dot facing up every time you shoot you will get the same consistent results ....but who wants to go throough that pain in the ass process thats just one more thing to worry about when you have to shoot because if the dot is not up eevery time you will get different deflection and inconsistent results there for please be aware what your buying when your buying a meucci cue......also my buddy bought one brand new and that thing fell apart and the cue was supposed to be made by bob meucci himself and yet this cue was falling apart and poorly made so I ask those buyers beware of what they are going to spend their money on before they buy and for goodness sakes do research its your hard earned money dont throw it away

Hello My name is Don Clements. I am a 24 year old male in the army and im about to be sent home on a medical discharge due to my knee injuries. I have alot of knowledge on alot of things if you wish to know maybe we can talk directly one on one. As far as Mcdermott cues goes I find the older models up to about 2003 are good anything newer i am finding that i dont like to much and alot of mc dermott fans are not to happy with the new end cues either. I have an old d series collectors cue and when i first used it i was very impressed with it and just when i thought that was the shit predator cues came out and my buddy said hey come here a minute and i was curious but i said ok he had an old mcdermott similar to mine and so he threaded on his predator 314 shaft to my mcdermott and i fell in love with it nothing i have touched since has really come that close but i have also recently bought a lucasi with a predator z shaft and that is also a great tool but i still prefer my 314 shaft over the z shaft......in my findings mcdermott has changed their pin from 3 8/10 fine threads to 3 8/10 radial and rounded pins not to say they are bad but i find that i would be easier to strip the threading on the new style cues so to those who buy the new style request they put and old style pin in it and ya the new mcdermott cues just arent what they used to be ..........thanks DON.
